Job description: The Machine Operator works in the Metals department and is responsible for effectively operating the required fabrication equipment, including but not limited to the CNC, press brake, laser and water jet.
Responsibilities:
- Operate equipment and maintain a work environment with a “safety first” mindset
- Efficiently and effectively operate equipment necessary for metal fabrication and shear operations
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues on equipment
- Troubleshoot and make minor repairs to equipment as needed
- Maintain organization of work area
- Must be proficient at reading work orders
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Must have at least 1 year of manufacturing experience
- Must have at least 1 year of relevant machine operation experience
- Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment
- Must be able to read a tape measure
- Must be able to read and interpret basic shop drawings
- Must be able to speak and read basic English
- Must pass a drug screen and background check
- Must be authorized to work in the United States
- Must have a valid state-issued driver’s license
Education:
- High school diploma or GED preferred

- Ability to withstand extreme temperatures (hot and cold) and outside elements
- Ability to stand/walk/crouch/bend frequently throughout entire shift (up to 10 hours)
- Ability to lift 50 pounds regularly
- Ability to work 8-10 hour shifts and willingness to work overtime as needed
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, bilingual (English and Spanish) is preferred
- Must be able to form advantageous work relationships with co-workers, managers and members of plant management
